Draceana Happy Plant In Water $29

$29.00

Nice choice! Dracaena “Happy Plant” (also known as Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana') does really well in water—super low-maintenance and a gorgeous indoor vibe. Here's how to keep it thriving in just water:

🌿 Dracaena Happy Plant in Water – Care Guide

1. Container

  • Use a glass jar or vase—this lets you monitor root health and water clarity.

  • Ensure it’s tall enough to support the stalks and not tip over.

  • Add decorative pebbles or stones to help stabilize the stems (optional).

2. Water

  • Filtered or rainwater is best—tap water can have fluoride/chlorine which Dracaenas hate.

  • Water level: Submerge only the bottom 3–5 cm of the stem. Don’t soak the whole stalk—it can rot.

  • Change water weekly to keep it fresh and oxygenated.

  • Rinse the roots and container when changing the water to prevent algae or slime buildup.

3. Light

  • Bright, indirect light is perfect.

  • Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

  • It can tolerate lower light but will grow slower.

4. Fertilizer

  • Not essential, but you can add a drop of liquid houseplant fertilizer to the water once a month.

  • Go super light—over-fertilizing can cause yellowing or root burn.

5. Temperature & Humidity

  • Likes temps between 18–25°C (65–77°F).

  • Keep away from cold drafts and heating vents.

  • Enjoys humidity, so occasional misting helps if the air is dry.
